“Where have a hundred years of haute couture led us? Back to the very beginning. Fashion has come full circle.” – Gladys Adams

Gladys Adams was a very fashionable, classy, stylish and unique lady. Her take on fashion exuded sophistication and elegance. A great fan of all things old, yet classy, she opened the doors of Gladystyle in 2001 where she and her husband Paddy initially began specialising in the sale of antiques.

As the business grew, Gladys and Paddy decided to expand into the areas of jewellery, vintage and modern designer clothing.

In 2012, Gladys Adams, the founder of Gladystyle became ill and sadly lost her brave battle the same year. ¬†Gladystyle is now run by Gladys’ husband Paddy and their lovely daughters Claire and Niamh. Gladys’ vision lives on through them.

Some months ago, Niamh and Claire gave me a call to ask me to come to the shop and take some photos. Fashion and Photography together! I could barely contain myself!

I had only intended to be there for an hour but before I knew it, two hours or more had passed. Gladystyle is such an interesting shop that I didn’t feel the time pass by!

It’s like an Aladdin’s cave full of little treasures

Just when you think you have seen the most beautiful dress or hat, you turn around….and there’s more!!!

It’s a place that keeps on giving. From vintage and contemporary fashion to hats and jewellery. It’s just heavenly.

Gladystyle also carry some vintage wedding dresses should you be in the market for one!

Gladys’ husband Paddy, together with their daughters Claire and Niamh are determined to keep Gladys memory and vision alive and this is very evident when you visit their shop.

It has not been an easy task by any means but they have done it with great grace and Gladys would be very proud of them.
